Up in the air . . .

AIR India has decided to reserve seats in an entire row, namely the third row, in Economy Class on its Domestic Flights for women passengers who wish to travel alone. These special seats, which can be availed by such women passengers, will come at no extra cost. 

A women passenger can request the seats at any of Air India’s booking offices in the city or at the airport and they can be taken up to 90 minutes before departure for Domestic flights.

Air India flies longest all-female flight

AIR INDIA marked International Women’s Day by flying the world’s longest flight crewed entirely by women. On Sunday, March 6, the national carrier’s Delhi-San Francisco flight was operated with a full female staff, including cockpit and cabin crews, check-in staff, on-board doctor, ground handling staff, and engineers.

Air India currently employs more than 3,700 women, including pilots.

AIR INDIA beefs up Birmingham service

AIR INDIA has announced it will offer daily flights between Birmingham, Delhi and Amritsar from November.

The carrier already flies four times a week between Birmingham and India and will add the extra flights when its 18th Boeing 787 Dreamliner is commissioned.
