Beatrix Potter on show

THE NATIONAL TRUST'S #BeatrixPotter exhibition at Mottisfont in Hampshire runs until September 18. The exhibition – the only one in the south of England – celebrates the 150th anniversary of her birth. 

Beatrix Potter: Play and Childhood features a collection of 30 original watercolours and drawings by perhaps the world's most beloved children's illustrator and author, plus a small selection of vintage Beatrix Potter dolls and figurines.

The exhibition offers a rare opportunity to see these artworks which, due to light sensitivity, are not normally shown outside their permanent home in the Lake District.

Celebrate Beatrix Potter in the Lake District

2016 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of #Beatrix Potter, so the National Trust has organized a year of special events, activities, and exhibitions in England’s #LakeDistrict, where the writer bought a house and farm in 1906.

There will be Potter-themed activities and trails during the Easter holiday, displays of artwork at the Beatrix Potter Gallery and Wordsworth House and Garden, storytelling, art sessions, canoe trips, and birthday picnics in July.
