Europa-Park opens new attraction in 2017

EUROPA-PARK, Germany’s largest theme park, will reopen its doors on April 1st with a spectacular programme of seasonal events running until November. 

A record 5.5 million visitors went through the park last year with an increase in visitors from France and Switzerland.

There are 15 European themed areas to be discovered, over 100 attractions and thrilling rides including 13 rollercoasters. 

New for 2017 the biggest single investment in the history of Europa-Park, Europe’s largest Flying Theater, a completely innovative world-class flight simulator, emerges. During the season 2017, the dream of flying will become a reality with Project V.

See Europe in a day …

ONE of Germany’s most popular tourist attractions – the #Europa-Park Theme Park in Baden-Wurttemberg – will open its doors for the 2016 summer season on March 19.

The park will be launching an Irish-themed area this year, complete with a fishing village and Irish culinary treats.

From Ireland to Russia and Iceland to the Mediterranean, visitors can tour 14 European countries in one day.

It is also the only theme park in the world with Michelin-starred cuisine: its onsite restaurant has retained its two Michelin stars for 2016.

The park’s season runs until November 6.

Top spots in Germany

WHAT’S #Germany’s top tourist attraction? The Berlin Wall monument? The Brandenburg Gate? Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm shopping area? Hamburg’s Red Light district? What about – yes, it’s very unlikely – the HQ of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt?

The answer, based on polls by the German National Tourist Board, is the Europa-Park theme park in Rust, South-West Germany.

Second and third on the list are Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria and Cologne Cathedral.

Also rated by tourists are Heidelberg Castle and Old Town, the old town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Lake Constance with Mainau Island and the Monastic Island of Reichenau, and … yes … what’s left of the Berlin Wall, and the Brandenburg Gate.
