Safety upgrades at Concord Waterfall Grenada

THE Government of #Grenada, through the Ministry of Tourism, continues to make every effort to enhance and to improve safety at our various attraction and recreational sites. As such, work was recently completed at the Concord Waterfall to improve the experience for both locals and visitors, particularly as it relates to safety at the site.

Through collaboration with our various stakeholders improvements included installation of new railings and the erection of a multilingual sign which serves to remind all users to exercise a level of responsibility and safety when enjoying the falls.

Adding to the enhancement and safety of the premier tourist attraction is the inclusion of two inflatable lifeguard rings to assist in cases of emergency. While the physical and safety amenities have been upgraded, quality service delivery will also be addressed.

Chocaholics head to Grenada

THIS year’s #Grenada #ChocolateFestival runs from May 13 to May 22.

Held at the Mount Cinnamon Resort and Beach Club, the festival celebrates the island’s export with events including cooking lessons and workshops at which visitors can take a 'bean to bar' journey, discover the roots of the world's favourite sweet treat, meet local farmers, tour cocoa farms, pick cocoa pods and prepare them for processing using traditional methods.

There will be plenty of opportunities to sample local produce including, locally-brewed chocolate beer and rums, chocolate cocktails, local cocoa tea, and chocolate-inspired meals. Visitors can also learn the tricks of the trade with Grenadian artisans and try their hand at making their own chocolates.

Grenada goes choctastic!

GRENADA’S Chocolate Festival next year runs from May 8 to May 17.

The island is one of the few places in the world where cocoa is grown and turned into chocolate using traditional methods, so the festival will follow the journey cocoa takes from tree to bar.

Festival highlights include the chance to be a farmer for a day on an organic cocoa farm learning how to pick cocoa pods, harvest the beans, and prepare them for processing. There is also the opportunity to design and create a chocolate bar under the guidance of the team at the Diamond Estate Chocolate Factory. There will be a workshop on the health benefits of chocolate and, of course, opportunities to eat the stuff.

Day tickets starting at US$36/£23 for adults and US$20/£12.70 for children.
