Feel like a film star

THIS week Tom Hiddleston won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Mini series, for his acclaimed role in BBC series The Night Manager.

Luxury holiday rental firm Charles Marlow has availability this spring at Villa Cala Deia, which overlooks the famous beach restaurant scene in #Mallorca, where fictional character Roper's son Danny supposedly gets kidnapped.

A stone’s throw from the bay Cala Deia, this recently built home combines classic Mallorquin architecture with a modern interior. The property includes four bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, plus an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Spend sunny afternoons relaxing on one of two stunning terraces that offer outdoor dining and overlook the pool and sea. With both central heating and air conditioning, this luxury home can be enjoyed all year round.

Tee off on Majorca

#MAJORCA hosts the International #GolfTravelMarket later this year. It will be an opportunity to showcase the island as one of the leading golfing holiday destinations in the Med.

Nineteen courses are members of the Golf Course Association of Majorca, and they are all within easy reach. Just 45 minutes is the longest drive players would expect to make between the two furthermost clubs on the island.

Last year, tourists played 600,000 rounds of #golf on the island and for 2016, the target is to add another 30,000 to that total.

Son Vida is the oldest club on Mallorca, dating back to 1964 and there has been steady growth in the number of courses since then. Eight clubs have been added since 2000. The island's golf history stretches back much further to 1934 when a nine-hole course in Alcudia was established before it was shut down during the Spanish civil war, when the fairways were used for aircraft.

Andrew Smith at Your Golf Travel, says: ‘Mallorca has long been heralded as one of Europe's foremost golf destinations and it's difficult to find fault with any aspect of the island's golf offering.

‘There is a great choice of golf courses all within close proximity of each other, fabulous year-round weather, frequent flights, and so many other things for golfers to enjoy while visiting the island.

World’s only over-18s waterpark

WHAT’S claimed to be the world’s only over-18’s water park will be opening – but not, of course, for anyone under 18 – on Majorca in April.

It’s at the Majorca Rocks complex in Magalluf, and opens on April 30.

It has eight high adrenaline slides, including the Aqualoop, a 360º human roller coaster which reaches speeds of up to 60kmh/37mph, plus a four-lane race slide.
