Walk into history at Warwick Castle

GUESTS staying in the luxury Tower Suites at #WarwickCastle can now go ‘beyond the rope’ to get exclusive access to some of the castle’s precious medieval artefacts. 

Escorted by a History Team expert, guests will have the opportunity to handle weapons and suits of armour used in battle, and view heirlooms passed down through generations over the past 1,100 years.

They can also have a private behind-the-scenes tour of parts of the castle normally closed to visitors. .

From £500 per night, two adults can stay in a vaulted chamber in the 14th century Caesar’s Tower. The price includes champagne on arrival, a private castle tour with ‘beyond the rope’ access, breakfast in the State Dining Room and two days’ priority access to the castle attractions.

Warwick Castle is accessible from Junction 15 of the M40, 40 minutes from Birmingham and 1 hour 40 minutes from London. By train, it’s 86 minutes from London Marylebone.

Journey back through time at Warwick Castle

AN interactive attraction at Warwick Castle promises to take visitors back in time using 3D and 4D technology.

Time Tower, which opened to visitors on March 28, is the first of its kind in the UK to combine 3D scanning and modelling, projection mapping, and 4D effects. 

It knits together compelling stories from the Middle Ages, the Tudors, and the Victorian era into a time-travelling narrative brought vividly to life.

Figment Productions, the creative team behind LEGO Factory Tour Experience at LEGOLAND Discovery Centres and Octonauts at SEA LIFE, has used 3D scanning and modelling know-how to create a scale model of Warwick Castle that transforms through time with projection mapping and 4D effects.

Time Tower will be unveiled historian’ and author, Dan Jones, whose Channel 5 series Secrets of Great British Castles – featuring Warwick Castle – started this month.

Dan Jones said: ‘Time Tower is un-missable. It uses the latest technology to grab and keep kids’ attention, and it weaves together story threads from different times in our history, to show how everything is connected. Because Time Tower uses technology so naturally, its story unfolds in a way that kids can grasp easily. Yet it never loses authenticity or accuracy.’
