STRETCHING from its iconic
north coast to the Breckland region in the south and encompassing both the
flatlands of the Fens and the unique wetlands of the Broads, Norfolk's
landscape is more varied than many realise. This distinctive corner of England was
largely bypassed by the Industrial Revolution. It’s a region of rolling
farmland, ancient woodland and hundreds of villages. It is also the place in
which to travel slowly.
The latest title in Bradt’s
Slow Travel series – Slow Norfolk – is
a personal and entertaining look at one of Britain's most beautiful counties. It’s
written by freelance travel writer and photographer Laurence Mitchell – who specializes
in places firmly off the beaten track – and costs £9.99.
