Elite Athlete Centre and Hotel

LOUGHBOROUGH University is creating a dedicated 4-star Elite Athlete Centre and Hotel (EAC) comprised of 44 bedrooms. The facility will be run by Imago Venues – Loughborough University’s dedicated hotel, conference and events provider. It will provide a unique sports hotel that promotes rest, relaxation, and the pursuit of excellence. 

Set in the heart of Loughborough University’s world-leading sports facilities, this inspiring high-performance environment offers aspirational space for athletes, businesses and fitness enthusiasts to be the best they can be. With 20 specially designed altitude rooms, eight dedicated accessible bedrooms, a nutrition lounge, café and athletes’ relaxation area and seminar space for 30, the inspirational facility is a European first. 

Packages will include access to the UK’s leading coaches, sports scientists and support staff; it boasts the country’s largest concentration of high quality sports training facilities and is an aspirational backdrop for businesses and individuals wanting to improve their performance.

Keswick Mountain Festival

IF adventure and the outdoors is your thing then you have to go to Keswick Mountain Festival (KMF) which is taking place in its 11th year from 8-11 June.

The festival has grown into one of the biggest and best loved outdoor events in the UK, a unique event of outdoor adventure, speakers, sporting events, live music, camping and family friendly activities, all set in the beautiful Lakeland.

Some of this years highlights include sailing, rock climbing, canoeing, mine climbing, hiking and windsurfing. There are also triathlons and trail races from 5k to a 50k ultra if you're up to a challenge.

Ready to Climb?

SCHEDULED to open on March 25, 2017, the Muscle Monster giant-sized climbing gym in Kanagawa an hour from Tokyo will be the first attraction of its kind in both Japan and Asia.

The giant jungle gym will be located inside Sagamiko Resort Pleasure Forest in Kanagawa prefecture, just one hour from Tokyo by car. You’ll need a head for heights to brave the new attraction, which will be located on the highest ground inside the resort and over 16m tall at its highest point.

It will offer three floors of athletic areas crowned by the “colosseum”, a hexagonal rooftop viewing platform. With over 90 hair-raising climbing activities spread across 1000 m sq and beautiful 360 degree panoramic views from the top, the new attraction is sure to make your hair stand on end with both fear and delight!
