Up in the air . . .

AIR Transat has launched its Summer 2018 programme and is doubling capactiy on its Winter 2017/18 flights.

The Canadian carrier will offer direct flights from Glasgow to Toronto five times a week and a weekly Vancouver service in Summer 2018, along with a range of connecting flights to Calgary, Montreal and Vancouver.

In addition to unveiling its 2018 programme, the airline has also announced its also doubling its Winter 2017 season flights through to April 2018 from Glasgow to Toronto from once a week to twice weekly.

Up in the air . . .

KLM and Aer Lingus are to launch direct daily flights between Dublin and Amsterdam.

CANADIAN airline Air Transat will increase the number of flights from the UK to Toronto next winter by offering a daily service from November to April. London Gatwick to Vancouver also gets a second weekly flight commencing in December.

LOW-COST Cyprus airline Cobalt – funded by local and Chinese investors – is preparing for its first take-off in July. The company’s CEO, Andrew Pyne, says he want to turn Larnaca Airport into a regional hub serving Europe and Middle East. The airline will start with five planes – for flights to Britain, Greece, and Ireland – with plans to have ten by the end of 2017.

New UK-Montreal flights

AIR TRANSAT, WOW Air, and Icelandair will all launch new routes from the UK to Montreal, Canada, in May.

Air Transat will launch a route from Glasgow to MontrĂ©al opening up the entire Quebec region for Scottish travellers. Flights will depart every Monday beginning May 30, with prices starting from £385 return per person.

WOW Air will be flying from the UK to Montreal via Reykjavik from three UK airports from May 4, with tickets starting from £99 each way.

Icelandair will launch flights from the UK to MontrĂ©al via Reykjavik on May 19 four times weekly until November. Prices start from £380 return from five UK airports (London Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, and Aberdeen), and £397 return from London Heathrow.

Air Transat to launch Montreal-Glasgow route

CANADIAN airline Air Transat will introduce a new route from Glasgow to #Montreal next summer, with flights from £385 return.  

The weekly service, running from May to October, will be the first direct air link between the two cities.




Lesley Kane, sales director UK & Ireland, Air Transat, said: ‘We’re sure this service will be very popular, as there is a deep historic connection between Scotland and Quebec.

‘Our new non-stop service to Montreal brings our Scottish connections to four great Canadian cities, and adds to Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver which have been Air Transat staple destinations for over 20 years.

Air Transat will operate five weekly flights from #GlasgowtoToronto next summer, along with a weekly direct service to Vancouver and Calgary.
