NEW Ale Trail Brewing in Downtown Fresno - Over the past year, several breweries have popped up in Downtown #Fresno, earning the area the moniker “Downtown Fresno Ale Trail.” The six different breweries which opened—all within walking distance of each other—include Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Co., Full Circle Brewing Co., 411 Ales and Spirits, Border Hops Brewing Co., Zack’s Brewing Company, and House of Pendragon/Pita Kabob. Tioga-Sequoia and Full Circle are already operating in downtown Fresno, with the others anticipated to open in summer and fall of 2017.

SAN DIEGO Becomes First Destination to Release Official Beer - In partnership with Bay City Brewing Co., the #SanDiego Tourism Authority has made history as the first city to release an official destination craft #beer for sale to the public. “72 and Hoppy” is a session IPA, which is now available at Bay City Brewing Co.’s tasting room, in addition to numerous San Diego bars, restaurants, attractions and hotels. San Diego is home to 125 breweries as of 2016 and this new beer reflects the effort of San Diego Tourism Authority and the local brewing community to establish the city as the craft beer capital of America.

Virgin Trains creates rail ale

A ‘RAIL ALE’ has been created for passengers using Virgin Trains' east coast routes. The ‘Hop on Board’ brand has been devised by York-based Rudgate Brewery in conjunction with the train company.

Virgin Trains expects to sell more than 55,000 bottles at £4 each to passengers travelling on routes between London King’s Cross, Leeds, York, Newcastle, and Edinburgh.

#VirginTrains customer experience director, Alison Watson, says: ‘Hop on Board is an exciting step in revamping our on-board offering, embracing the craft beer revolution. Working alongside the #RudgateBrewery, we have created an ale full of flavour and charisma that epitomizes the Virgin Trains spirit and the hoptimist’s outlook on life – with us, the glass is always half full.’

Follow the ale trail

THE #DaytonaBeach Ale Trail, #Florida, is a collection of micro-breweries and taprooms. 

‘The Daytona Beach area is hitting its stride as far as #micro-breweries go,’ says Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau executive director Tom Caradonio.  ‘We've added several new venues recently, and the quality is excellent.  Some are combining great brews with everything from gourmet food to yoga.’

Each location has a unique atmosphere, and all are owned and operated by people who are truly passionate about their home-made brews. The offerings are diverse; some serve tapas and meals, and others encourage guests to visit neighboring restaurants and bring dishes in.

Itinerary stops include:

• BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse, recognized this year at the 2015 North American Craft Beer Awards where it received several medals. 

• Daytona Beach Brewing Company, a production brewery with a super-chill tasting room. 

• Daytona Taproom on Seabreeze Blvd, which has 50 craft beers on tap.

• Ormond Brewing Company, a craft brewery in Ormond Beach that specializes in flavorful beers brewed on site.
