AIR China has developed a new gourmet in-flight menu for its first-class service based on the offerings of Barolo, the Italian restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton Beijing. Head chef Amedeo Ferri was consulted in concert with Beijing Air Catering Co. Ltd, who helped to adapt dishes for the different environment of a pressurized air cabin, where sensitivity to flavor and smell can be diminished in comparison to on the ground, and where all food must be reheated having been brought in cold. 

 A variety of four-course seasonal menus – one balanced example announced featuring spiced prawn salad, tomato and basil soup, braised beef tenderloin, and panna cotta for dessert – are being made available to first-class passengers on flights to North America as of August 1st. Air China has been revamping the food service on its domestic and international routes since early 2016.

ETIHAD Airways has revealed its new First Class amenity kits, designed in partnership with two leading brands from the worlds of fashion and beauty: internationally renowned fashion designer Christian Lacroix, and pioneering Hungarian skincare brand, Omorovicza.

The attractive new bags will initially be introduced on the airline's Airbus A380 flights between Abu Dhabi and London, New York, Sydney, Melbourne and Mumbai, and then fleet-wide in early 2017.

Lufthansa offers the Porsche 911 Experience

LUFTHANSA’S First Class and Private Jet passengers can now kill the waiting time before their next take-off by taking a Porsche 911 or Panamera for a drive through Munich and around Lower Bavaria.

The Porsche First Class Excitement offer is available for all Lufthansa, SWISS, and Austrian Airlines passengers (and also Lufthansa HON Circle members and Lufthansa Private Jet guests) who have a First Class boarding ticket for that day.

“This is exclusive offer from Porsche turns the waiting period before take-off into a memorable experience,” said Thomas Klühr at Lufthansa.

For guests, the Lufthansa First Class Personal Assistant accepts reservations in the First Class Lounge and arranges the car rental. Passengers can book their sports car online before the flight, or make an on-the-spot decision, as long as the chosen offer is available.

Back at the airport, a First Class flight starts as usual: a limousine takes passengers straight to the aircraft.
