All aboard for a royal trip



FANCY sailing around Scotland's Western Isles on a 1930s yacht, which once belonged to the Queen and Prince Philip? 

In July and August, the restored, 63-foot Royal Racing Yacht Bloodhound will be based at Oban Marina, where the vessel will be available for day charters.

Up to eight guests will have the choice to sit back and relax while on board, or help 'man the ropes'.

Island get-away




TO mark the launch of its new self-catering lodges, the 5-star Isle of Eriska Hotel, Spa and Island – a two-hour drive from Glasgow – has launched its Hilltop Spa Getaway ... 

... The three- night stay will cost £499 per person and includes accommodation in the new lodges, two spa treatments, and a dinner in the hotel's Michelin-starred restaurant.

The 300-acre Eriska Island - www.eriska-hotel.co.uk - has wildlife such as badgers, otters, seals, and red deer, plus nature trails.

The self-catering lodges have hot tubs, high speed Wi-Fi, entertainment systems, tile and wooden flooring, en-suite bedrooms and state-of-the-art kitchens.

Accessible from Connel Airport on Oban, Glasgow, and Edinburgh, guests can arrive by car, boat, or even aboard a private sea plane from Glasgow Airport.

Mansions for parties





BALVONIE HOUSE and The Drury – two very, very large houses on Scotland’s west coast – have been added to House Parties collection of holiday lets.
 
Professional chef services are available at both of the houses to take away the strain of preparing meals for large parties.

A 45 minutes-drive from Glasgow, Balvonie House sits in its own large garden high above Skelmorlie, with panoramic sea views. 

It sleeps 26 in 11 bedrooms, and has nine bathrooms. The dining room has a table for 22.

The Drury, in Oban, sleeps 22 in 11 bedrooms. The Victorian house has three reception rooms, a large kitchen, and seven bathrooms on three storeys.

Balvonie House is priced from £3,845 (£148 per person) for a week’s stay and from £2,168 (£83 per person) for a two-night midweek break, while
