DURING October, Virginia invites visitors to 'find your local crush' at special events and festivals throughout the state as part of Virginia Wine Month. 

Now in its 26th year, Virginia Wine Month continues to grow with new events and experiences being added each year, pairing tastings with music concerts, culinary demonstrations and tours of George Washington's Mount Vernon home. 

With more than 230 wineries, travellers will never be far from a vineyard at which to sample Virginia's award-winning wines and, coupled with the explosion of autumn colour across the state's 15 million acres of foliage, October is the ideal time to visit.
