World Tapas Day

FOCUSING on cultural travel to Latin America, Tia Stephanie Tours has partnered with Artesanias de Colombia, the Colombian government entity with the mission to support and promote the artisan sector of #Colombia, to design fiber arts, craft and cultural #journeys to Colombia. 

First up in 2017 is the highly anticipated "Expo Artesanias Colombia: The Crafts of Colombia: Bogota & Cartagena" tour runs December 5-13, 2017. It will feature a two-day, deep-dive immersion into the Expoartesanias handcraft fair. Entering its 27th year, the fair focuses on the finest in Colombia's diverse traditional and contemporary crafts. This special access tour offers travelers insider opportunities to "meet the artisans" and learn about their culture.

Included are one-on-ones with the Wayuu, Aruaco, Zenu, Waunaan, and Amazona people, so you can actually purchase works after engaging in meaningful interactions with the artisans themselves. Taking place at Corferias in Bogotá, travelers will explore the highlights of Bogotá, in addition to attending the craft fair. From Bogotá, the tour moves to and continues in Cartagena on the Caribbean coast, where cumbia, salsa, vallenato and other rhythms flow into the night! The price is $2585, including four star hotels, daily breakfast, five lunches, three dinners, and a cerviche crawl!

The Expo-Artesanias tour is part of a series of "Craft and Culture route" tours in Colombia organized by Tia Stephanie Tours. These experiential trips invite travelers to learn about both the culture and bio diversity of the country.

BRISTOL Airport has held on to the top spot in the ASQ Survey in UK airports, an international airport passenger experience benchmarking programme, run by Airports Council International. 

The programme measures passenger satisfaction at leading UK airports, as well as airports from over 80 countries. Having been ranked number one for overall satisfaction in the UK, in the third and fourth quarters of 2016, the latest results reveal Bristol retained this position for the first quarter of 2017 (January - March).

Bike to the Summit

THE "High-Bike Testcenter Paznaun", the only cross-brand motorbike test centre in Europe and thus the Alps, kicks off the seventh season at the end of May 2017. The enormous popularity with customers – in 2016 the record number of 2,487 full-day test rides was reached

In the "High-Bike Testcenter Paznaun", some 35 of the latest 2017 motorbike models are available for full-day test rides. Since 2011, more than 2.9 million kilometres of motorbike test riding have been reached in the heart of the Alps. At the third Top of the Mountain BIKER SUMMIT from 21 - 23 July 2017 the vehicles are also available for test rides by the hour. 

On request, navigation devices are available for some vehicles, on which a total of 14 different day-tours in Tirol, to Bavaria, Vorarlberg, South Tirol and Switzerland are stored. In addition, printed roadbooks with suggestions for tours are available. Thirty mountain passes and thousands of bends beckon fans to the Alps.

Sake arrives in Peckham

LONDON'S first sake brewery – Kanpai - has opened in Peckham, with the first brews soon to be hitting the shelves of Selfridge’s department store.

The brewery will be run by Lucy Holmes and Tom Wilson, who visited Japan three years ago and fell in love with the drink. Using authentic Japanese ingredients but adding their own twist, their current two varieties, a junmai and nigori, not only taste great but are also dairy, gluten and preservative-free. The pair trained with a master brewer in Japan to refine their sake-brewing techniques earlier this year.
