Australia tops for dog friendly beaches

BEACHES in Brisbane, Perth and Floreat all top the recommendations; Melbourne has the most dog-friendly cafes and South Bank in Brisbane is the number one place to walk a four legged friend in #Australia, according to a list of the 100 most pet-friendly places in the world, recommended by more than ten thousand members of TrustedHousesitters.com. 

From over 54,000 locations that were recommended worldwide, 20 Aussie places made the top 100 list, pipped at the post by the UK with 30, followed by the USA with 26. Australia took the top spot for the world’s most pet-friendly beaches, while the UK had the most pet friendly tourist attractions.

ICONIC holiday operator Club Med opened its first Queensland in-store boutique at Snowscene in Woolloongabba. The holiday boutique is just Club Med’s 8th such retail outlet in #Australia.

Cruise ship, passenger return a boon for tourism after Debbie

THE arrival of Pacific Dawn at Airlie Beach last Thursday was an important milestone in the recovery for the region's economy following Tropical Cyclone Debbie.

Carnival's Pacific Dawn will be the first of three P&O calls to the Whitsunday coast this month. A total of 34 ships from across Carnival Australia’s cruise brands are scheduled to visit the region this year -- eight more than in 2016.

Ship turnarounds from Carnival #Australia brands in Brisbane would increase from 124 this year to 142 in 2018.

In 2015-16, a record 329 #cruise ships visited Queensland according to the Australian Cruise Association.

Speaking from the #Queensland Museum, Science Minister Leeanne Enoch today unveiled program highlights confirmed for the 2017 festival.

“The #WorldScienceFestival 2017 will build on the momentum of this year’s incredible inaugural event that saw more than 120,000 people attend Festival activities and injected more than $5 million into the Queensland economy,” Ms Enoch said.

“Next year’s festival will welcome the return of family-favourite free program, Street Science!, alongside new theatrical performances, workshops and curated discussions on cutting-edge science and discoveries.
