DUNSTER Castle is the beautiful setting for two outdoor theatre performances this Summer by the Chapterhouse Theatre Company, so bring a picnic and relax in the gorgeous gardens for the evening.

A Midsummer Nights Dream - Shakespeare’s best-loved romantic comedy. Let yourself be whisked away on a thrilling journey to the most magical of forests and meet star-crossed lovers, playful fairies and hilarious travelling players. Beautifully designed Elizabethan costumes, a wonderful musical score and enchanting woodland creatures come together to make this an evening of unmissable summer garden theatre.  June 17 gates open at 5.30pm.

Pride and Prejudice - Take a step back in time to meet Elizabeth Bennet, Jane Austen's most loveable heroine. When Elizabeth meets the rude and abrupt Mr Darcy, she loathes him at first sight. But is there more to him than meets the eye? Brought to life by award winning writer Laura Tuner, this brand-new adaptation celebrates the 200th Anniversary of Jane Austen’s death and promises to be the most splendid evening of the summer.  August 19 gates open at 5.30pm

Picnic on the Broads

BOAT operator Herbert Woods in #Norfolk, has launched a Picnic #Boat – Starlight 24 – which can trace its roots back to the original Starlight designed by the company approximately 85 years ago. 

The company is introducing ten day-hire boats.

The 24ft, glass fibre boats have space for up to ten people and have gas hobs, sinks, fridges, hot and cold water, hot air heating, lavatories, life jackets … and full views front and back.

Full day hire cost from £180 to £200, with half day rates from £100 to £110.

Just the spot for a picnic

THE Rough Guide to Accessible Britain has highlighted recommended parks for summer and autumn picnics on its Family #DaysOut website.

It features reviews of accessible picnic-worthy green spaces around the country, including the Family Fun Zone in Carnfunnock Country Park, which has a walled garden and a maze designed in the shape of Northern Ireland.

The Rough Guide to #AccessibleBritain and the Family Days Out website have been developed in association with Motability Operations, the company that operates the Motability Car Scheme for disabled people. The website also has a Days Out blog, written by #disability experts, tourism professionals, and Rough Guide to Accessible Britain fans.
