Final swing in the Seychelles

PREVIOUSLY the European Senior Tour, the 2018 Staysure Tour is the men’s professional golf tour for members aged 50 and older. The MCB Tour Championship will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

The Seychelles Tourism Board has announced that the 2018 Staysure Tour season will end in the island of Praslin at Constance Lemuria, one of Seychelles’ most exquisite golf courses. Staysure Tour members will compete for almost £600K (US$800K) in prize money at the MCB Tour Championship from 14 to 16 December.

This is the first time the #Seychelles will host a #golf tournament of such calibre, and the archipelago is bound to impress. Stunning natural surroundings, year-round sunshine and warm weather, welcoming hospitality and world-class golf courses make the Seychelles a golfer’s dream.

Club Med to open first resort in the Seychelles

Direct flights to the Seychelles with British Airways

BRITISH Airways launches direct flights to one of the world’s most desirable holiday destinations.

From March 24 2018 customers will be able to fly direct from Heathrow Terminal 5 to the #Seychelles, making British Airways the only airline offering a non-stop service from the UK.

Scattered across the Indian Ocean and famed as some of the most idyllic islands on the planet, flights will take to the skies twice-a-week from March to October and will be operated by the airline’s newest fleet of aircraft, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The Seychelles offers honeymooners, families and sun worshippers world famous beaches, crystal clear waters, easy island hopping and colourful coral reefs.

Seychelles signs sustainable tourism charter

THE #Seychelles minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Alain St.Ange, signed the African Charter on Sustainable and Responsible Tourism during the recent UN climate change talks in Morocco. The document aims to provide the African continent with a common framework to promote best practices in #sustainable #tourism.

As a country that relies on the travel industry, Seychelles has been particularly active in preserving its natural heritage.

As much as 50% of the Seychelles’ territory consists of protected National Parks and the country has gone so far as to limit the number of tourist beds per island to ensure that tourism growth does not come at the expense of the environment.

Seychelles is found to have the purest air on the planet by the 2016 Environmental Performance Index and it is currently developing renewable energy sources.

Austrian Airlines Flies to the Seychelles

AUSTRIAN Airlines will initiate flight service to the #Seychelles starting with its winter 2017/18 flight schedule. 

From October 25, 2017, it will fly non-stop every Wednesday from Vienna to the vacation island in the Indian Ocean, returning to Vienna on Thursdays.

“Demand for direct flights to long-haul tourist destinations is high. We responded: In addition to Mauritius, Colombo and Havana, the Seychelles represent our fourth new destination within a period of only two years”, says Austrian Airlines CCO Andreas Otto.
