Club Med Cancun Yucatan Doubles The Size Of Its Aguamarina Family Oasis

CLUB Med has unveiled an expansion to the family-centric Aguamarina concept at its all-inclusive resort in Cancún, Mexico. As the pioneer of the all-inclusive, Club Med continues to build on its foundation of family-friendly vacations that accommodate all travelers. With the new expansion at Club Med Cancún Yucatán, the Aguamarina family oasis area is now more than double the size.

The new expansion introduces 60 all-new oceanfront family rooms – 30 Club Rooms and 30 Deluxe Rooms – with two-bedroom accommodations to create a comfortable experience for both parents and children while still keeping them connected. This new expansion increases the Aguamarina capacity to 120 family accommodations total.

Boasting a new pool dedicated solely to families with exhilarating water games, relaxing lounge areas and outdoor activities for all-day entertainment, the pool area also plays host to La Marina, a new family bar that features a dedicated kids' corner with a beverage and snack menu specially curated for children and their taste buds.

Modern Mexico's must visit destinations

Huasteca - This secret oasis is green, mountainous, and full of waterfalls, forest, and ancient ruins. Ciudad Valles is the second largest town and has a wonderful choice of hotels and restaurants. You can spend your time canoeing, hiking, and visiting the Tamul falls. You’ll be able to organise a trip with locals to navigate up the river, and the Cave of Swallows attracts over a million birds in the early morning and late evening.

Templo Mayor and Teotihuacan - Situated just off the main square at Templo Mayor are the newest pyramids to explore. The excavation site displays stone-carved snakes, and other Aztec artifacts. An hour outside the city is Teotihuacan which hosts two giant pyramids with the Pyramid of the Sun measuring 213 feet tall – you can climb to the tops of both. MUSA - This monumental underwater museum of art was formed in the waters surrounding Cancun. It consists of 500 permanent life-sized sculptures and is one of the largest and most ambitious underwater artificial attractions in the world. All of the sculptures are fixed to the sea bed and made from specialised materials to promote coral life.

Yucatan and Tulum - The Yucatan peninsula is well known for ocean front hotspots Tulum and Holbox, as well as for its Mayan culture, colourful colonial architecture, and local flavours.

Taste of Mexico

MEXICO'S cuisine is far more than tacos and burritos. It's full of flavor from indigenous plants and grains, and regionally distinctive. Tia Stephanie Tours, a premier operator of cultural and culinary tours to #Mexico, has now created three geographically-targeted gastronomic itineraries to Mexico, specifically: Yucatan, Baja California, and Oaxaca.

Culture and Cuisine of Yucatan
Yucatan's geographic location, distant from mainland Mexico and its blend of influences, including: Maya, Spanish, Lebanese, French, has created a singular culinary palate and kaleidoscope of flavors. Here, the cuisine is "Yucatecan" and not "Mexican," with dishes such as: sikil pak, fish tikin-xic, pollo and cochinita pibil, sopa de lima, and papadzules. Beginning at the Mercado Lucas de Galvez, travelers learn about ingredients such as sour orange, native squash, red and black recados (rubs or pastes) that make this region different from the rest of Mexico. A visit to Yucatan would be incomplete without exploring the Classic and Post Classic Maya Era sites, such as Uxmal and Mayapan and swimming in the deep blue, fresh water cenotes (sink holes). The trip begins in Merida, travels to Uxmal and continues to Campeche City in the state of Campeche.

Flavors and Landscapes of Baja California
Like the Mediterranean, Baja California's arid, sunny and seaside climate, is known for its seafood, olive oils, cheeses and is the epicenter of Mexico's wine production. This journey begins in Tijuana, were the urban revival of this border city becomes very evident to travelers. With renowned architecture, cooking schools, museums, restaurants and cutting edge food truck parks and craft beer! Baja's Museum of the Americas showcases the early settlers, missionaries and immigrants, who shaped the region and introduced grape cuttings here.

Beginning with maize, the foundation of Mexico's ancient and present cuisine, moving to Oaxaca's renowned molé sauces, and finishing with the distilled beverage, mezcál, this trip not only introduces travelers to these foods, buts examines them within the historic and cultural context of Mexico.

Learning about ancient corn and its early domestication, which led to the great civilizations in Mexico and understanding how corn is the cornerstone of Mexican communities, including its daily ritual and veneration.
