Qui veniunt .... tunc vident ..... consumunt!

They come ... they see ... they spend!

TOURISTS spending in the UK is expected to reach £22.2 billion, according to a forecast by VisitBritain. The total for 2014 was £21.3 billion.

Pictured, left, is a typical throng queueing to join one of the many open top sightseeing buses that ply the more touristy areas of central London. And this is a common sight all over Britain with its magnificent mix of culture, arts, history and modern economy.

Baker Street - where this picture was taken - is a particular tourist attraction area being close to Madame Tussauds, the Planetarium and because of the Sherlock Holmes connection.

The number of overseas visitors will rise to 35.1 million, up by 2.5 percent on the 2014 number, says VisitBritain.
