JETBLUE is to start #flights from the US to #Cuba on August 31, with one-way fares from $99,
When the service launches, JetBlue will operate Monday, Wednesday, and Friday flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida and Abel Santamaria Airport in Santa Clara in Central Cuba. Beginning October 1, they will be daily flights, and from November 3, airline will start daily flights between Fort Lauderdale and Camaguey, Cuba's Ignacio Agramonte Airport.
In an effort to simplify travel to the island and reduce potential worry, JetBlue is including Cuban government-required health insurance coverage for all travellers on its Cuba-bound flights. It will also make Cuban Tourist Visas available for purchase upon check-in at the airport.
‘It’s a new day for Cuba travellers and one we have thoughtfully prepared for,’ says Marty St. George, one of the airline’s executive vice presidents. ‘We are proud to usher in a new era of Cuba travel with affordable fares and great service.’
JetBlue also revealed that it has been tentatively awarded flights between Havana and three US cities and plans to announce a start date and fares for flights to Havana later this year.
