NEW ZEALAND'S newest i-SITE Visitor Centre opened in Foxton on Saturday 18 November. Named Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom, the Visitor Centre embraces the town’s unique Māori and Dutch heritage, and is situated on Wharf Street in view of the iconic De Molen (windmill).
More than a million international visitors a year visit an i-SITE during their travels in New Zealand. The i-SITE provides valuable information on attractions in their local communities and across the country, inspiring visitors to stay longer and spend more while in New Zealand. The addition of the Foxton i-SITE Visitor Centre brings the total number of i-SITEs nationwide to 81.
