Tips for Travelling with Kids

TRAVELLING with children can be challenging at best, many couples stop traveling after they have children, or they limit their travel to places near their home or visiting family. One couple decided not to let having a two-year-old keep them from traveling the world.

AJ Ratani and Natasha Sandhir spent eight-and-a-half months traveling to 31 countries with their two-year-old. Along the way, they learned a lot about traveling with children, which they are now sharing in their new blog: The 2 Idiots Travel Blog. 

Some of the places AJ and Natasha traveled with their son include: Peru, Galapagos, Iceland, Spain, Australia, China, Japan, India, and Botswana. The blog will cover topics of interest to couples who are interested in traveling with their children.

Symphony of the Seas debuts at PortMiami

ROYAL Caribbean International’s Symphony of the Seas has made her highly anticipated debut to the cruise capital of the world, #Miami. Fresh from her inaugural Europe season, the world’s largest and most adventure-packed ship sailed into her permanent, year-round home at Royal Caribbean’s brand new, state-of-the-art Terminal A at PortMiami, the largest #cruise terminal in the U.S.

The ultimate family ship, Symphony of the Seas will sail year-round seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from Miami beginning Nov. 17, and will add visits to the cruise line’s highly anticipated private island in The Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay, when it launches in May 2019.

BRITISH Airways is celebrating being named Best Family Friendly Airline out of 20 international airlines, looking at how easy they make the travel experience for families. 

As well as sitting families together for free, British Airways was praised for offering families pre-boarding, giving children their own free checked luggage allowance, plus a free allowance for a pushchair and car seat, complimentary special kids meals on longer flights, special children’s in-flight entertainment and free carrycots and baby seats on board flights. 

To help further ease the stress of family travel, this summer British Airways introduced a permanent family check-in zone and security lane at the its hub at Heathrow Terminal 5, which has so far been enjoyed by 150,000 customers.

THE Singapore Tourism Board (STB) unveiled today Merli, a heart-warming and whimsical illustration of the Republic's mythical national icon. #Merli, short for Merlion, is a character that STB hopes will appeal to families with young children, one of STB's key target consumer segments.

"We came up with this endearing character, based on our beloved Merlion, to build a stronger emotional connection with families and to entrench Singapore's brand awareness among them," said Ms Lim Shoo Ling, Director, Brand, STB. Airside Andy lands in London City Airport

AIRSIDE Andy has teamed with London City Airport to launch the very first Airside Andy dedicated children’s play area. Located in the Western Pier of the airport, this area opened last month and is designed for families travelling with young children.

Designed for children aged 3 – 8. Airside Andy is free to play, with in-app purchases and memberships available to enhance the in-game experience. It is a massively multiplayer online game (MMO), built exclusively for tablet and mobile and available through iTunes and Google Play, where kids can explore the busy world of the airport, and learn to manage short term and long term goals.

The star feature of this space is the Airside Andy play-tech pod. This is designed to look like a mini baggage carousel, complete with two tablets which are attached to suitcases. Each of these tablets are loaded with 21 games, including the Airside Andy game itself.
