Luxury huts

MARCH 2016 will see the vision of Island Records founder, Chris Blackwell, take a step further with the completion of 26 beach huts at the luxury GoldenEye resort in #Jamaica.

Designed by Jamaican architect Ann Hodges, the 26 freestanding one- and two- bedroom huts merge outdoor and indoor living. The octagonal design and private veranda, oversized louvered windows and high ceilings, eradicate the need for air conditioning.

The new phase in Blackwell’s expansion of GoldenEye resort extends beyond the new beach huts, with a seaside bar, rooftop terrace, and a snorkeling cove, from which guests can swim out to sea to explore GoldenEye’s coral reef and the Oracabessa Fish Sanctuary.

Goldeneye is the original name of James Bond novelist Ian Fleming's estate on Oracabessa Bay on Jamaica’s north coast.
