SKI enthusiasts looking to travel to the slopes by rail can celebrate as #Eurostar offers passengers more routes to the French Alps than ever before. It has opened sales for its direct ski service from London St Pancras and Ashford International.

For those wishing to ski in the Swiss Alps, Eurostar’s connecting service to Geneva via Lille is another way to reach the heart of Switzerland and then onto popular resorts.

The 2015/2016 seasonal ski services will run weekly from December 19 until April 9.

Top award for Geneva

GENEVA has been named Europe’s Leading City Break Destination 2014 at the World Travel Awards, considered the Oscars of the tourism industry.

‘Our city has always been synonymous with business - but we are firmly convinced that Geneva is a very attractive leisure destination as well,’ commented Vincent Dubi, marketing director at Geneva Tourism.

Go Holiday editor David Kernek comments: This award could be regarded as final proof that tourism industry awards – like FIFA decisions – should not be too seriously.
