THE annual Jorvik Viking Festival (February 14-22) is a celebration of York’s Viking heritage organized by the York Archaeological Trust.
The largest Viking festival in Europe, it attracts more than 40,000 visitors to the city and commemorates the celebrations – called Jolablot– the Vikings held each February to welcome the approach of spring and the end of winter hardships.
