The UK’s Independent Traveller put the 625-mile circular walking route in its list of the 16 top global routes, including the Inca Trail in Peru, the Appalachian Trail in the US, and the Camino de Santiago Compostela in France and Spain.
The Ulster Way was originally conceived in 1946 as a tour through the most scenic parts of Northern Ireland’s six counties. The route was adapted between 2004 and 2009 and now includes ‘quality’ sections, most of which are in designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
