ENGLAND’S golf tourism sector is expected to be given a boost following the formation of a new body and subsequent partnership.
Golf Tourism England (GTE), recently set up to generate more revenue for golf courses, has entered a partnership with England Golf.
Since launching in July last year, GTE has signed up almost 100 golf properties and tour operators.
‘Our job is to identify opportunities for these groups to work together and create cross-marketing strategies in order for tour operators to create outstanding bespoke packages to benefit the all-round tourism experience,’ said Andrew Cooke, GTE founder and CEO.
A more joined-up approach has helped Scotland and Ireland register an increase in golf-related tourism.
