Up in the air …

BIRMINGHAM AIRPORT and American Airlines have announced the launch of new direct daily flights between Birmingham and New York JFK. The route will provide almost 100,000 seats between Birmingham and JFK.

The American #Airlines flight will operate daily, arriving from JFK into Birmingham at 7am. It will depart for its return leg at 9am, arriving into JFK at 11.55am (local time).

The new direct service comes as US tourists spent approximately £40 million in Birmingham last year, while the Midlands exported £4.8 billon to North America.

QANTAS and Hamilton Island are to release a 3D Virtual Reality, 360-degree experience of the Great Barrier Reef and Hamilton Island, giving passengers a unique experience of one of Australia’s most popular tourist destinations.
The film will be available in selected Qantas international lounges and flights from June 27.

Qantas is also to increase the number of flights between Hamilton Island and Brisbane, strengthening its commitment to drive #tourism to the Whitsunday region.

TURKISH AIRLINES is to start a new daily flight from London Heathrow to Istanbul.  The new service will operate from October 25, bringing a total of 38 flights a week from Heathrow to Istanbul.
