Up in the air . . .

EDINBURGH AIRPORT reports that 11,130,584 passengers passed through the airport in 2015, making it the busiest ever year at a Scottish Airport. The annual total represents an increase of more than 950,000 over the 2014 total.

PASSENGERS using Bristol Airport rose by almost 500,000 in 2015 to reach a record 6.76 million. The 7.7% year-on-year increase was the sixth consecutive year of growth for England’s the third-largest regional airport.

HEATHROW has issued its 2015 full-year traffic results, which show that nearly 75 million passengers travelled through the airport during the year, an increase of 2.2% on 2014 and the airport’s highest ever number of annual passengers.

RYANAIR has added 75,000 extra seats from the UK to Malaga for summer 2016 in response to high demand for the Spanish destination. Additional flights will operate from eight UK airports, with Stansted gaining the most.
