THE NUMBER of visitors entering #India on the new #e-tourist #visas jumped sharply in March 2016. According to the latest data from India’s Ministry of Tourism, a total of 115,677 e-visas were issued last month, compared to 25,851 in March 2015.
The growth rate of almost 350% has been driven by the expansion of the e-visa system, which is now available for the citizens of 150 countries.
The UK (27.7%) accounted for the largest percentage of successful e-visa applicants, followed by the US (13.4%), Russia (7.0%), France (6.6%), Germany (5.2%), and China (4.5%).
