Bookings boom for Orlando …

Visit Orlando has announced an all-time record for the destination. In 2015, 66.1 million people visited the city, up by 5.5 percent from 2014. Visitor numbers have more than doubled over the past 20 years, growing from 32.4 million in 1995. ‘We're so proud to break another national record and again be named the top visitor destination in the US,’ said Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs.

. . . and Cumbria . . .

LAST winter’s floods haven’t dampened holidaymakers interest in escaping to Cumbria. Holidaycottages.co.uk has reported a 222 percent increase year-on-year in bookings for properties in the county, based on bookings made in the first quarter, comparing with those made in 2015.

The property rental agency has holiday homes across the region, from cottages for two to luxury manor houses for up to 14 people.

. . . and Dubai

THE NUMBER of overnight visitors to Dubai from the UK grew by 10% in the first quarter of 2016 compared to the same period last year, according to the latest data from Dubai Tourism.  Between January and March, 334,000 Brits travelled to the city for one night or more, consolidating the UK’s position as Dubai’s leading European visitor source market and its third largest overall.
