After the Pride and Prejudice bicentennial anniversary in 2013, comes that of Emma, published in December 1815.
Many Austen fans in Britain and around the world might be interested in visiting the house – Chawton – near Alton in Hampshire, in which she spent the last eight years of her life, and in which she Emma, Mansfield Park, and Persuasion.
Now called the Jane Austen’s House Museum, it runs events throughout the year.
In Bath, Somerset, the city’s 2015 Jane Austen Festival runs from September 11 to September 25. Austen lived in the city between 1801 and 1805.
