OFFICIALS at the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development have plans to make Rabat and Casablanca must-go destinations for holidaymakers around the world.
The plans will see the government spend $2 billion (£1.3 billion) in the development of tourism in the destinations.
The aim is for Rabat and Casablanca, the political and commercial capitals of Morocco respectively, to join Marrakech on the world stage.
It is hoped the resorts will become world leaders for recreation and culture through the creation of museums, theatres, libraries, interpretation centres, marinas, restaurants, cafes, and shopping malls.
