Eat like the Romans

THEY scoured the #Amalficoast looking for the freshest seafood and crispest Neapolitan pizza, uncovered the forgotten recipes and secrets spices of opulent Venetian food, and now, Katie and Giancarlo Caldesi have set out on another exploration of Italy to where all roads lead to ... #Rome.

In ROME: Centuries in an Italian Kitchen, the Caldesi’s uncover the gastronomic gems of the Eternal City and reveal ancient recipes against a backdrop of contemporary life.

From fried artichokes from the Jewish Quarter to Porchetta from the hills, light bites of Suppli from trendy Testaccio to soulful soups of Minestrone in home kitchens, the Caldesi’s bring you old and new recipes that set Rome apart from other popular Italian destinations.

Owners of London’s CaffĂ© Caldesi, Caldesi in Campagna in Bray, and the Marylebone La Cucina Caldesi cooking school, Katie and Giancarlo Caldesi have had a series on BBC2 and taught alongside some of the biggest names in Italian cuisine. This is their eighth cookbook.
