Families prefer all-inclusive holidays, finds poll

MORE than three quarters of UK families had a package holiday this year, with all-inclusives being the most popular type of break.

Almost a third of people polled by Holiday Hypermarket said all-inclusive holidays were their preferred choice of trip. Self-catering breaks came next (26.8%), followed by half board at 16.40%.

Marketing manager at Holiday Hypermarket, Ian Crawford, said: ‘Travelling with children can be complicated enough, so having someone take care of important details such as transfers is reassuring.’

The popularity of the package is backed up by the Office for National Statistics, which has reported that the number of Britons taking package holidays abroad is on the increase – from 15.3 million in 2013 to 15.9 million last year.
