Malta in the news

Novel promotion: The island’s tourist authority invited three bestselling American fiction writers – Chris Kuzneski, Boyd Morrison, and Graham Brown – to spend a week in #Malta in the hope that they would use it as a location in their books.

The pitch seems to have been successful: the authors have promised to feature Malta in their books. ‘It’s been an eye-opener,’ said Brown.’You just can’t imagine that a country that’s an island in the middle of the Mediterranean could have so much history, so many different cultures, so much to offer. I have several ideas that spring right from that.’

Boats banned: Bays across Malta are to have ‘swimmers only’ zones, in which vessels no vessels will be permitted.

The zones – 49 of them – will be marked by red and yellow marker buoys, and will be in place until September 30.
