EVERY style of music is represented with a variety festivals across the Commonwealth of #Virginia. Lovers of #Bluegrass and classic #Countrymusic can attend events such as the Richmond Folk Festival or the Old Fiddlers’ Convention in Galax, the largest and oldest of its kind in the world, while fans of slightly more modern music can attend events such as the Bristol Rhythm and Roots to see the big names.
‘We have so many great music festivals in our own backyard, from the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival to the Richmond Jazz Festival,’ says Virginia Tourism president Rita Clenny. ‘Virginia is so rich in music history, but it also attracts mainstream artists.’
