Cut price ticket to sail ...

No-frills services to France and Spain are to be started by Brittany Ferries next month. They include an 'economie' weekend service between Portsmouth and Santander in northern Spain and crossings between Portsmouth and Le Havre in France. Single fares for a car and two passengers start from £79 to France and £169 to Spain. The company says  the low-cost crossings are designed for customers who want to travel to France or Spain ‘at a very reasonable fare without the cruise-style experience normally provided by Brittany Ferries’.

Passengers will get limited dining options, carpet-free en-suite cabins and access to a lounge in which seats can be reserved for overnight crossings. There will be 12 pet-friendly cabins and two equipped for customers with disabilities.
