2015 church tours unveiled

THE Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) returns this year with a new programme of historic church tours taking place across the country this summer from Devon to Northumberland.

Many of this year’s tours showcase the trust’s award-winning conservation and regeneration work, from the state-of-the-art interior of All Souls in Bolton to Holy Trinity Church Sunderland.

From churches pre-dating the Norman Conquest to spires that have guided sailors along the coast for centuries, this year’s tours cover a thought-provoking theme and allow visitors to explore the buildings, examine architecture and ancient artefacts, and learn the stories behind the churches’ historic features.

Ancient churches in Worcestershire, Lincolnshire, Devon, Northumberland, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Lincolnshire, Suffolk, Manchester, and Hampshire feature in the tours.
