Bath gets thumbs-up from tourists

BATH TOURISM PLUS has announced the key findings of its 2014 Visitor Survey, which found that 44% of tourists came to the Somerset city on a day trip while 55% were overnighting, and that 73% of visitors were categorized as ABC1s.

Almost 78% were on a leisure/holiday visit to the city, and 83% of staying visitors were using serviced accommodation. More than 90% of tourists rated the overall enjoyment of their visit to Bath as ‘high’ or ‘very high’.
The average length of a stay was 2.47 nights, while the average length of a day trip to Bath was five hours, 21 minutes. Visitor spend per head was calculated at £57.81 per person.

Diane Goffey at the South West Research Company said: ‘One of the overwhelming positive messages coming out of the 2014 findings is visitors’ high level of satisfaction with their overall experience in the city, and the fact that a very high proportion of them would recommend it as a place to visit to their friends and family.’
