Luton airport passenger numbers grow for 11th consecutive month

LUTON is the latest UK airport to record a rise in passenger numbers in February, with a 14.4% increase.

This follows a record-breaking year in 2014 and marks 11 months of consecutive growth.

Further increases are expected this year, with Wizz Air – the second-largest carrier at the airport – announcing a new service to Ohrid, Macedonia, from June.

The rise in demand is being met by a £100 million project that will increase annual capacity from 12 million to 18 million passengers by 2026.
