Breaks abroad ‘cheaper’ than homeland holidays, say Brits

A SURVEY by On the Beach has found that the majority of British holidaymakers choose to take a vacation abroad rather than in the UK, because they believe it is cheaper.

The survey of 1,000 British holidaymakers found that 41% say they choose to holiday outside of the UK because they believe it's less expensive than taking a holiday at home.

The research showed that a one-night stay at The Grand Hotel in Brighton for two people on August 1 on a bed and breakfast basis would cost £319, while a seven-night stay at a hotel in Bodrum, Turkey would cost £459.
