Nightingale safaris at Knepp

NIGHTINGALES are now rare in Britain
, due mainly to the disappearance of much of their habitat, but the birds have made an extraordinary comeback at Knepp, West Sussex, home to the largest re-wilding project in lowland Britain. This is thanks to the return of dense, thorny scrub where they like to build their nests.

Visitors can learn more about the extraordinary life-cycle of the nightingale and enjoy its nocturnal song on one of Knepp’s evening safaris. They go to several nightingale territories in the heart of the Wildland Project.

Nightingale safaris take place every Thursday and Saturday evening between April 23 and May 21, from 7.30-9.30pm, at £25 per person.

To book, go to https://www.kneppsafaris.co.uk/Safaris/Nightingales
