Islands in the bays

MALTA’S government wants to build floating islands for swimmers and sunbathers, one in St Thomas Bay, Malta, and the other at Marsalforn, Gozo.

At 4,300 sq. ft., they will be connected to the shore by a floating walkway.

They will have diving boards and mooring facilities, there will also be nets to keep jelly fish away from swimmers.

The government hopes to have them in place by June.
