What’s Turkish for it’s only a joke?

WHAT counts as holiday entertainment around the world varies from country to country, and culture to culture, but hotel staff in a Turkish resort have tested the limits of what’s acceptable, whatever one’s culture.

The Daily Mail in London reports that some sort of prank during a ‘Hollywood-themed’ poolside show at a seaside hotel involved hotel employees dressing up in black as terrorists, wielding fake guns, carrying cans filled with water but marked fuel, and running around the pool area as if intent on murder.

The holidaymakers were, to put it mildly, frightened by what seemed to be the start of an ISIS-style atrocity. Luckily, none of them died of a heart attack.

This happened just weeks after the murder of holidaymakers on a beach in Tunisia.

The hotel is the 5-star Grand Yazici Mares in Icmeler, near Marmaris. Book a holiday there, if you dare!
