Where to see the stars

BEACON HILL FARM in rural #Northumberland has its own night sky observatory for the exclusive use of self-catering guests.

The observatory has a powerful Celestron CPC 1100 telescope, giving detailed views of stars and planets such as Jupiter and Saturn, and two additional telescopes.

A large swathe of Northumberland has been designated as one of the best places in Europe to see the stars due to its unpolluted night skies.

Self-catering rates range from £345 per cottage per week.
