Super-ride set for Orlando

ORLANDO, Florida, has unveiled a £119m rollercoaster project that will dwarf anything previously seen in the theme park capital of the world – and claim the title of the world’s tallest ride at 570ft.

The Skyscraper will be the centerpiece of an ambitious shopping, dining and nightlife complex called the Skyplex, separate from Disney, Universal and SeaWorld.

The ride will last three minutes, hit a top speed of 65mph and be the only one of its kind to offer loops and rolls at such a height.

Skyscraper will be half a mile from the 400-ft high Orlando Eye, currently being built by Britain’s Merlin Entertainments company, making for two colossal structures on Orlando’s International Drive. Both are due to open in 2016.
