Take a walk in the forest

THE opening of England’s 75-mile National Forest Way marks the coming of age of the National Forest as a visitor destination. The trail uses existing public and permissive footpaths to explore the highlights of the National Forest, connecting visitor attractions with the aim of encouraging longer stays and return visitors.

The route extends over the length and breadth of forest, through parts of Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire, linking the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire and the Beacon Hill Country Park in Leicestershire.

The trail is divided into twelve stages so that walkers can dip in for a day, walk for a weekend or take on the challenge of the whole trail.
