Cottage holidays ‘more romantic’ than hotels

ACCORDING to a recent survey commissioned by romantic cottage specialists thelittledomain.com, couples in the UK would choose a holiday cottage over a hotel for the perfect romantic holiday.

Of the 1,000 couples surveyed, 64 percent opted for a holiday cottage.

The survey also found that men are four percent more likely to book a cottage break than women when organizing a romantic break for their partner.

Cottages also appear to be the ideal place to allow young love to blossom with 72 percent of 18-24 year-olds choosing this option also.

These findings follow a survey by Glasgow City Marketing Bureau which claimed that the perfect romantic weekend away consisted a two-hour lie-in, six hours exploring and eight hours eating and drinking. These are the kinds of activities that couples can indulge in more often during a cottage holiday compared to a restrictive hotel break where a lie-in can lead to an awkward encounter with the cleaner.
