Aussie appeal

AUSTRALIA welcomed 6.7 million visitors in the 12 month period ending in August, an increase of 8.2% on the previous year. Of the total, 666,900 visitors arrived from Britain, a 5.7% increase.

The UK remains Australia’s most valuable leisure market in terms of total spend; visitors from Britain contribute 15% of the total annual spend of all inbound tourists (AUD$2.6 billion/£1.42 billion).
